Year of the Tiger

Yo, Chinese New Year is just around the corner, this year belonging to the tiger and coinciding with Valentine's Day. And weather-wise it's supposed to be a decent weekend in my neck of the woods.

I must have fallen asleep as the Chinese New Year crept in. It was during lunch at the local Chinese restaurant when I learned that this marked the first day of the new Year of the Ox! I am used to the new year arriving in the month of February, but one of the restaurant staff explained to me that it's similar to having a leap year, where Chinese New Year will begin in late January. Like this year.
